General Information

Provides advice and help across the University regarding e-learning and educational technologies.


No smoking anywhere in the building.

Medical facilities

First aiders on site. First aid room in building.

Emergency procedures

Evacuation chairs fitted on staircase.

Physical Access


Main entrance in Old Press car park 3. External lift by main entrance to 16 Mill Lane, operated by proximity card only. Bell for assistance. Visitors please arrange in advance.

Located on first floor.

Lifts and stairs

External lift to all floors. Staircase has continuous handrails. The centre is all on the first floor.

Seminar/teaching rooms

Large, open plan office, spacious and carpeted, with various desks and furniture. Meeting rooms all level and accessible, with moveable furniture.

Computer facilities

Staff have their own computers. Equipment and advice to help with RSI available.


Disabled toilet on ground floor.

Common rooms

Small kitchen in main office, all at standard height but accessible and fairly spacious.


  • Reception lobby, with push-button automatic entry and exit doors.

Assistance dogs welcome.

Computer facilities

Large monitors on most computers. Other equipment can be obtained if needed.

Large print, Braille and audio

Large print information on prior request. Touch readable buttons and audio information in lift.

Library and magnification equipment

Not applicable.

Signs and wayfinding

Good, clear signage, with raised lettering, to the centre at main entrance to 16 Mill Lane and on stairwell and at entrance to centre. 16 Mill Lane is not signed from Silver Street.


  • Good lighting in open plan office and other areas generally.
  • Stairs are marked and have continuous handrails.

Hearing Impairments

Induction loops

No induction loops currently. Carpeted and little traffic noise.


  • Main office is open plan, so there is some distraction from other phone calls etc — please say if this is a problem.
