General Information
General
Medium-sized Department, mostly in one building, with a satellite centre, the Magnetic Resonance Research Centre, situated nearby. The Department’s main building is a modern purpose-built building and is fully accessible.
Smoking
No smoking anywhere in the building.
Medical facilities
Ten First Aiders in Department, and more on site. First Aid room in building.
Emergency procedures
Evacuation chairs available and passenger lifts can be used by prior arrangement
Physical Access
Entrances
The main entrance is on Level 2 and has a ramp leading up to it from the street.
Number of floors
The main Department is on six different levels altogether, all of which are accessible by lift. The small satellite centre (MRRC) has an upper level which is not accessible by lift.
Lifts and stairs
The building has 3 lifts, 2 double ended lifts which are located between the office and lab block and 1 single ended goods lift.
Lecture theatres
Three Lecture theatres, all with wheelchair spaces.
Seminar/teaching rooms
All Seminar and Teaching rooms, and laboratories, are accessible via lift.
Library/ resource area
On the same level as the main entrance. Fixed workspaces with moveable chairs.
Computer facilities
On the same level as the main entrance. Fixed workspaces with moveable chairs.
Toilets
Disabled toilets on all levels of the main building.
Common rooms
Tea room on bottom floor, with level access from lift.
