Training is an important aspect of being an NMH.
The ADRC uses training as an opportunity to familiarise NMHs with all aspects of their role.We aim to continually review and improve the service and support we offer to students and we encourage all NMHs to take part in regular training events in order to keep abreast of the latest developments.
NMH training and events take place at the Accessibility and Disability Resource Centre unless otherwise specified. NMHs will receive emails about upcoming events which will include information about booking.
Thank You Events
The ADRC host two ‘NMH Thank You’ events during the year in recognition of the hard work and commitment shown by NMHs to their students and the wider University throughout the year. These events are an excellent opportunity for networking and to meet other NMHs as well as ADRC staff. We often invite speakers to give updates on disability and university related topics.
Events for ADRC Mentors
ADRC Mentors are required to attend two Mentor Training Days each academic year, one in Michaelmas and one in Easter term and at least one 1:1 Mentor Support Meeting per term. To find out more about upcoming training for mentors, please visit our Mentors page.
