In previous years the Disability Resource Centre (DRC) has held an in-person transition event for incoming students every September. This year, as in 2020, we are having to do things a little differently, but we are confident we can provide all the information which would have been in the event virtually on these webpages. We have found that providing information virtually has actually increased the number of students we have been able to reach. In 2022, we hope to be able to offer a blended offer of in person and on-line activities and information. We have also responded to feedback from last year’s students and now have a range of interactive Slido Q&A sessions where you can ask questions of the DRC team – see point 5 below for further information.

Welcome from Professor Graham Virgo, Senior Vice-Chancellor for Education

Please watch this short film by Professor Graham Virgo, Senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education welcoming you to our virtual transition event.

In the sections below, you will find short videos (with captions available) and information on the following topics:

  1. An introduction to the Disability Resource Centre and staff
  2. Information on support and things to consider before you come up to Cambridge.
  3. Information on other student services including the Cambridge Students' Union
  4. Some information on what to expect of college life and study
  5. Details on the Slido live Q&A sessions can be found here

If after watching the films, reading the information and attending the Q&A’s you still have some questions, please email using the email subject line ‘Incoming Student Question’.

Further information on the DRC can be found via the homepage or have a look at the virtual tour
