General Information

Training ground and competitive base for the University Athletics Club and Cambridge and Coleridge Athletics Club. The eight-lane synthetic track (ten-lane 100m track) can cope with competition from junior to senior elite level, including disability athletics. It can be used for disability athletics training and competition (the Eastern Region Disability Athletics Championship has been held here) but does not hold implements for all disability athletics events. These are usually provided by event organisers.

Opening hours

Opening hours are seasonal and dependent on bookings, but the facility is normally open from 9.30am–5pm Tuesday to Sunday during term. Floodlights were installed in 2008 so evening training is available - usually as a member of a club - on some nights during the winter (there is a limit on the number of nights on which the lights may be used).

Corner of Adams Road and Wilberforce Road.

There is ample parking on site. The car park is on the hockey pitch side of the building, at the same level as the track and pavilion.

Physical Access

Level access to ground and pavilion.

Number of floors

Two floors in pavilion, including ground floor.

Lifts and stairs

There is a lift to the second floor bar area and pavilion room.

Clearly marked disabled changing and shower facilities inside the pavilion.

Other Useful Information

  • Staff and students may join the University Athletics Club, Cambridge and Coleridge Athletics Club or take out a user card for a fee. The user card entitles the holder to use of the facility when it has not been booked by groups.
