About the role

As a Notetaker, you'll make clear and detailed notes for disabled students in lectures, seminars, and supervisions.

Some notetaking will be from lecture recordings or during live online classes, but most notetaking will take place in in-person classes.

We are looking for Notetakers from a range of subject backgrounds, including Law, Psychology, Maths, English, History, Medicine, Geography, and Sanskrit.

We are looking for applicants who are available for 5-10 hours per week. Notetaking assignments usually take place during the three University of Cambridge terms. The hours vary depending on student requirement.

You will be registered with the University of Cambridge Temporary Employment Service.

About you

We are looking for applicants who:

  • have an undergraduate degree
  • have fast, accurate typing skills
  • have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • are able to maintain clear role boundaries
  • are reliable
  • have excellent attention to detail
  • can maintain confidentiality

A postgraduate degree is desirable, as is previous experience working with disabled people.

You must be based in Cambridge and you'll need to come to the Accessibility and Disability Resource Centre (ADRC) to complete a right to work check.

You must be available until June 2025.

We particularly welcome applications from traditionally under-represented groups of the community.

This role is not open to current undergraduate students. Masters students at the University of Cambridge would need permission from their Director of Studies prior to applying.
