Study Assistant (Non-Medical Helper)

The Accessibility & Disability Resource Centre (ADRC) is seeking a Study Assistant with LaTeX experience to support a student on the Engineering Tripos, for a few hours per week.

About the role

As a Study Assistant, you'll support a disabled Engineering Tripos student with their 4th year research project.

The main tasks include scribing and editing, including on LaTeX. Some work is required online, and some in-person with the student, flexible to the student’s needs.

We are looking for applicants who are available for around 3+ hours per week. The exact days and times of the week are dependent on the student’s schedule, but the student has some flexibility. 

The Study Assistant would be registered as a temporary worker with the University of Cambridge Temporary Employment Service.

About you

We are looking for applicants who: 

  • are confident using LaTeX
  • have an undergraduate degree in a STEM subject
  • have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • are able to maintain clear boundaries

Experience of working with disabled people is desirable.

You must be based in Cambridge. You'll need to come to the Accessibility and Disability Resource Centre (ADRC) to complete a Right to Work check.

You must be available until least July 2025.

This role is not open to current undergraduate students.
